What is Meta PLV?
Meta’s Catalog Product Video (fka PLV) feature opens up a powerful new opportunity for brands to enhance their Dynamic Product Ads with video – making Dynamic Product Ads more dynamic, engaging, and conversion-focused.
While the feature is now available to all advertisers, it hasn’t scaled widely yet – largely because most brands struggle to produce and scale video content across their full product catalogs. Traditionally, creating videos for every product is time-consuming, costly, and resource-heavy.
That’s where Fibbl comes in: by using your existing 3D models, we help you generate best-practice product videos at scale – unlocking the full potential of this feature and helping you stay ahead in the competitive digital ad space.
How it works
We’ve streamlined the PLV process end-to-end:
3D First
It starts with your 3D models. If you don’t already have your products in 3D, we’ll help you create them – at scale.
Video rendering
From the same 3D model, we render a short, looping video that follows Meta’s best practices – you pick an animation from this library:
1:1 and 9:16 aspect ratios
Neutral or brand-aligned background (we’ll work with you to match it)
MP4 format with required encoding
Hosting & feed setup
Fibbl hosts the files according to Meta’s technical specs and creates a supplementary video feed that includes:
ID (matching your master product feed)
video_url (1:1)
video_url_2 (9:16)
Distribution to Meta
There are two ways to activate your PLV content:
Upload the Fibbl video feed to Meta Commerce Manager as a supplementary data feed, matching product IDs with your primary catalog.
Merge our feed into your master feed if you already manage feeds centrally (recommended if you’re working with feed management tools).
And that's it. For additional information or Meta specific guides to go live with these 👉 Full Meta documentation can be found here.
🔁 Not just for Meta
While Meta’s Dynamic Product Ads are the most common and impactful use case for PLV today, the rendered videos and feed format can be reused across multiple channels — including TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, and programmatic platforms. Think of it as a flexible content pipeline: once created, your product videos can work wherever short-form motion makes a difference.
🔄 Feed updates are triggered on-demand
Please note: supplementary PLV feeds are not updated automatically. Each time new 3D models are added or a new batch is rendered, we need to manually trigger an update to the feed — and you’ll need to re-import it into your platform (e.g. Meta Commerce Manager).
We’re actively exploring ways to automate this process and are looking for partners to help shape the solution. If you’re interested in contributing to this development, feel free to reach out.
