Shortlinks: How to generate and use them

Shortlinks allow you to generate a unique URL that opens either an Augmented Reality (AR) or Virtual Try-On (VTO) experience for a specific product. These links are powerful tools for marketing, communication, and sales activation—letting you share interactive product experiences anywhere you can place a link.

How to generate a shortlink

To generate a shortlink, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Models > Manage and open a specific product’s model detail page.

  2. Scroll to the Marketing accordion section.

  3. Choose the locale (this ensures the correct price and destination URL from your product feed).

  4. Select which experience you want to generate the link for: AR or VTO.

  5. Click Generate to receive your shortlink.

⚠️ Note: You must have a product catalog uploaded for shortlinks to work. The catalog is required to power the product banner, which includes key product details and a link back to your website.

How shortlinks work

  • On desktop: The user will see a clean QR-code experience that can be scanned to continue on mobile.

  • On mobile: The link launches the selected experience (AR or VTO) directly in the browser—no app or plug-ins needed.

How you can use shortlinks

Shortlinks can be used across all types of digital touchpoints, such as:

  • Email marketing (boost product engagement directly from newsletters)

  • Social media (e.g. Instagram Stories, X posts, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • SMS campaigns

  • Customer support or sales communications
